Of course, you are one of persons who like to go shopping. For your knowledge, shopping malls is a favorite haunt of people from all occupations. From working adults to trendy teenagers to families, they can be seen within the vicinity of the malls. Hanging out in malls happen to be one of Americans’ favorite past time and as such, many malls have bloomed over the recent years. However, amidst the hundreds of malls all over the United States, there remains a handful, which is considered The Largest Mall of America. We will look at these malls over the course of our article.

The Largest Mall of America list was produced based on the total square feet of retail area. This calculation is achieved by taking the gross rentable area. Based on this fact, we have a list of the largest malls of America.

First, Ala Moana Center in Honolulu, Hawaii is known as the largest open-air shopping center not only in America but also in the world. This mall has 290 retail stores with names like Macy’s Sears, Nordstrom, and Shirokiya among the few. This mall was opened in 1975.

Next on the list, we have the largest mall of America in terms of total square feet of retail area. This mall is the largest based on that. This said mall is no other than the King Of Prussia Mall located in King of Prussia, Pennsylvania. Opened in 1963, this mall contains over 400 stores. Among the many, include JCPenney, Sears, Lord & Taylor, Neiman Marcus, and Nordstrom.

Mall of America, located in Bloomington, Minnesota, is actually the largest mall in America in terms of floor area. However, because of Nickelodeon Universe, which is situated in the mall and takes up a huge chunk of the area, it has less retail space compared to that of King Prussia Mall. The mall opened in 1992 has 522 stores witching its grounds. Among the many stores and other main features of the mall are Bloomingdale’s, Sears, amusement park, AMC Movie Theater, Aquarium and many others.

Among the many other names on the Largest Mall(s) of America include South Coast Plaza which is located in Costa Mesa, California, Millcreek Mall in Erie, Pennsylvania, Aventura Mall located in Aventura, Florida, Sawgrass Mills in Sunrise, Florida, The Galleria in Houston, Texas, Roosevelt Field Mall in Garden City, New York, Woodfield Mall located in Schaumburg Illinois, and many others.

Bear in mind that this Largest Mall of America list is based, in part on the information that was gathered and provided by the Department of American Studies of Eastern Connecticut State University. The information is deemed correct at time of publication and is subject to change.
